In partnership with Undoolya Station and Broken Spur Inc the Herd of Hope provided a camp for ten children and their families who have had a loved one become an organ donor. Organ donation complicates grief and loss.

Based near Alice Springs, this unique opportunity to experience life on a working cattle station provided the children with space, to be with others who have shared similar experiences. With an opportunity for counselling as well as providing a range of experiences that are unique to station life.

The children and parents created friendships and lifelong memories assisting with the mental well-being of those who attended the camp. They still remain in contact with one another today.

These children continue life knowing they are not alone.  They met other children sharing similar circumstances of the gift their loved one gave.

The feedback received post camp – highlights and benefits were; meeting another donor child and knowing they were not alone or being judged, strength in numbers and a unique bonding experience. They also recommended this experience 100% to others.
